Policy

Senate Bill 565 (CC05-204)

The revision of G.S. 66-58 (c) authorizes limited use of college facilities by private business enterprises that loan or donate instructional equipment to the college. The purpose of the use of the facility is to demonstrate the loaned or donated equipment to customers. The bill states that “This use of college facilities shall be in accordance with policies adopted by the board of trustees of the college”.

Lease of Facilities remain subject to G.S. 115D-15

A. Usage is limited to “instructional equipment only. B. Use of facilities is limited to the timeframe involved for the “loaned or donated equipment”. C. Training utilizing the “loaned equipment” will be accomplished during normal working hours of the college. D. Demonstrations will not interrupt normal instruction/classes. E. Advanced notification of demonstrations will be submitted. F. College staff will be present at all times during demonstrations. G. Liability – loss of equipment by fire, theft, or Acts of God are not covered by the College. H. Maintenance of loaned equipment is the responsibility of the owner of equipment, not the College.
