It is the policy of MTCC to give the student body input into the decision-making process of the College. By State law, the President of the Student Government Association (SGA) is a non- voting member of the Board of Trustees.

According to the Student Government Constitution (approved by the Board of Trustees), students serve in an advisory capacity to the President, administrators, and faculty of the college on matters pertaining to the student body’s interests, activities, and welfare.

The Student Services Department acts as an advisory capacity to the SGA. The advisor of the SGA acts only to guide and counsel the SGA and to represent the viewpoints of the staff and administration.

Individuals wishing to form a new club or organization must seek official recognition through the Student Government Association.
