Policy

Under regulations issued by the North Carolina State Board of Education, the McDowell County Public Schools and Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ have entered into an agreement under which selected high school students between the ages of 16 and 18 may enroll in certain courses at the College while still enrolled in high school. This document sets forth the formal agreement between the agencies, the specific State Board policy providing for this concurrent enrollment program, and general guideline and procedures under which the program operates.

AGREEMENT

Between the McDowell County Public Schools Board of Education and the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees College regarding Concurrent Enrollment of high school students in Community College courses.

Pursuant to Chapter 2C.0305 of the North Carolina Administrative Code, the McDowell County Public Schools Board of Education and the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees hereby agree to allow selected high school students to enroll in courses at MTCC in accordance with the provisions of said Chapter 2C.0305, and do hereby authorize the Superintendent of the McDowell County Public Schools and President of MTCC to implement such a program of joint enrollment, to be effective with the 1981-82 academic year.

This agreement shall continue in effect until such time as it is dissolved by mutual agreement between the two Boards. A minimum of 60 days notice to one party by the other shall be required before the dissolution may occur, and any high school student enrolled in a College course at the time of dissolution may continue in that course until the course is completed.
