If that sounds like you, MTCC’s Educator Preparation Program is your route to becoming a licensed, classroom teacher.

The Residency Licensure Pathway is an alternative route facilitated by approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP) institutions like Â鶹ÊÓƵ. This model offers the flexibility to be working toward a certificate in order to obtain a teaching license from the state of NC while continuing to teach. MTCC provides a comprehensive support structure, including targeted coursework in pedagogy and technology, one-on-one professional coaching, and sustained support.

How to Apply

1. 1

   Confirm your eligibility

   Check that you meet the requirements above — bachelor’s degree, GPA, and coursework hours in your licensure area.

2. 2

   Secure a teaching position

   Obtain employment, or a promised placement, at a public or public-charter school in a position that requires a teaching license.

   Apply to Â鶹ÊÓƵ

   All interested applicants apply directly to MTCC to begin the Residency Licensure pathway.

   Connect with the EPP Coordinator

   Reach out to Anna Crisp to map your individual plan and enroll in your first courses.

   Start your coursework and one-on-one coaching while you continue to teach — on your way to full NC licensure.
